John Matthews

BSC (Hons)

John is an enthusiastic, high-energy, experienced Training and Development Consultant with many years of hands-on commercial experience in manufacturing, design, sales, sales management, leadership and team development.


He graduated from university with an honours degree in electronic engineering. Whilst pursuing his career as a designer in electron microscopy, he also qualified as a part time teacher with City and Guilds Institute and taught mathematics at his local college.

As his career developed he moved into B2B sales with the world's No1 global distributor of electronic components where he was awarded the Sales Person of the year award for 2 years running. This prompted a move into sales management where John was responsible for internal and external sales operations. Following his successes with both team and individual's developments, he was appointed as the training manager for the company's UK operations. Alongside the various training programmes he introduced, he also designed an innovative rotating modular training scheme to enable fast start up of all induction programmes. During this period he was accredited in New York as a certified session leader to deliver Wilson Learning's Behavioural Styles programme.

John decided to take his skills and experience to a wider audience and has worked as a training and development consultant for the last 7 years. He is an accredited performance development coach and an accredited NLP Practitioner from the John Grinder stream of NLP through the NLP Academy in the UK.

As a training and development consultant he has worked with a range of both national and international blue chip clients across Europe, India and the Middle East, in a range of industries including Banking and Finance, Healthcare, Oil and Gas, Media, Travel and Call Centres. He has run extensive programmes to all stratas of clients up to board level.

Making full use of his experience and knowledge, John delivers with a high level of interactivity, regularly drawing high acclaim from his clients.
